A Statement from Nashville SC

A Statement from NSC 6/1

60 years ago, African American students including John Lewis, Diane Nash, and Bernard Lafayette led peaceful protests to desegregate downtown lunch counters in Nashville and challenge the historical forces of racism and injustice. Today, we are reminded that their message is still as relevant as ever.

Nashville SC, our owners, players, coaches and staff send our deepest condolences to the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and communities of color who have been affected by senseless violence.

Words are not enough. We are committed to taking action, to using our voices and our platform to address these issues whilst working towards a more just community for everyone.

We built our soccer club on a set of core values that we promised we would live by. Unity, Community and Inclusivity were three of these values and are at the heart of who we are, and who we want to be.

We look forward to working together with our community leaders, organizations and the people of Nashville to be a catalyst for positive change here and across the world.
