Sam Surridge is leading the race for the MLS Golden Boot through 21 matches in MLS this season. The striker’s 16 goals leave him three goals ahead of second place Tai Baribo of the Philadelphia Union.
1st vs. 3rd Eastern Conference Matchup
The Boys in Gold have a noble task laid out ahead of them. With a win this weekend at GEODIS Park against 1st place Philadelphia Union, Nashville SC would surpass the Union in the Eastern Conference standings. It’s possible that the Boys in Gold finish the weekend at the top of the East, but the Boys in Gold would need an assist from the Chicago Fire in their match against 2nd place FC Cincinnati.
Youth Movement
The Nashville SC squad has undergone a massive overhaul compared to last season, and head coach BJ Callaghan hasn’t missed a beat with introducing new faces to Nashville SC fans in 2025. Huntsville City FC player Alan Carleton made his debut against D.C. United just last week, while Matthew Corcoran, Wyatt Meyer, Jeisson Palacios, Ahmed Qasem, Eddi Tagseth and Nashville SC Academy Homegrown Chris Applewhite have all made their debuts this season.

Andy Najar is one of the league’s most enthralling players, and he got his due when he was named an MLS All-Star for the first time in his MLS career. He has the second most amount of assists on Nashville’s squad (7).
