Continue Your Development This Winter

The Nashville SC Winter Regional Training Center is a selective futsal program for ambitious U8 through U14 Boys and Girls.

The program uses the speed and tight spaces of futsal to develop technical ability, quicker decision-making, creativity, movement, and confidence under pressure.

Selected players will train with Nashville SC Youth coaches and represent NSC Youth in competitive futsal events throughout the winter.

Why Futsal?

Futsal places players in situations where they must think and act quickly. The smaller court and reduced team size create more touches, more decisions, and more individual attacking and defending moments.

Training will focus on:

  • Ball control in tight spaces
  • Receiving and playing under pressure
  • Quick passing and combination play
  • 1v1 attacking and defending
  • Movement off the ball
  • Decision-making
  • Creativity and confidence
  • Defensive reactions and transitions
  • Understanding futsal positions and rotations

Players will learn the rules, techniques, and tactical principles of the game.

Application and Selection Process
Application and Selection Process

1. Submit an Application

Families must complete the online player application.

2. Application Review

Nashville SC staff will review each application. Current RTC evaluations, NSC program participation, coach recommendations, and playing experience may be considered.

3. Player Evaluation

Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person futsal evaluation.

Selection will not be based only on a player’s outdoor club or team level. Futsal requires its own skills and understanding.

4. Selection Decision

Each applicant will receive one of the following decisions:

  • Selected for an NSC Winter RTC team
  • Placed on the waitlist
  • Not selected for the current winter season

Selected players will receive registration instructions and a deadline to accept their roster position.

Training Curriculum

NSC Winter RTC teaches the technical and tactical principles of futsal. The fast pace, smaller court, and limited space challenge players to think quickly, play under pressure, and take part in every moment of the game.

Training will focus on:

  • Using the sole to receive and protect the ball
  • Quick passing and combination play
  • 1v1 attacking and defending
  • Futsal positions: fixo, ala, pivot, and goalkeeper
  • Rotations, third-player movement, and pivot play
  • Attacking and defensive transitions
  • Goalkeeper involvement in possession

Players will learn when to keep possession, create an overload, counterattack, press, or recover. The curriculum will be adapted by age, with younger players learning futsal foundations and older players working through more advanced tactical situations.

Player Commitment

Selected players are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions and competitive events.

Before accepting a roster position, families should review the complete schedule and confirm their availability.

Players must:

  • Arrive on time and ready to train
  • Wear the required NSC uniform
  • Communicate absences in advance
  • Respect teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials
  • Follow all facility and team rules
  • Continue meeting their outdoor club commitments

Playing time will support player development and team needs. Equal playing time is not guaranteed during competitive events.

Part of the Nashville SC Player Pathway

NSC Winter RTC provides another opportunity for players to develop and be evaluated within the Nashville SC youth pathway. Winter RTC complements a player’s outdoor club program. It does not replace club soccer and is not a required step within the Nashville SC pathway.

Program Fee

The final program fee will be confirmed before registration opens.

The fee is expected to include:

  • Weekly training sessions
  • Professional coaching
  • Facility rental
  • Competitive events
  • Team entry fees
  • Program administration

Families will only be asked to pay after a player receives and accepts an official invitation.
