Nashville Soccer Club Unveils Its Next Three Regular Season Matches

Nashville SC set to host two home matches at Nissan Stadium to be played without fans


NSHvHOU will be broadcasted live on Univision on Sept. 26; The match will also be streamed live in English on Twitter, and broadcasted on ESPN 94.9 Game 2 for English radio and El Jefe in Spanish


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2020) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today in conjunction with Major League Soccer the next three matches of regular season play which will span across a week starting on Sept. 19 and wrapping up on Sept. 26.


Nashville SC will start on the road against Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew SC on Sept. 19 presented by Renasant Bank at 6:30 p.m. CT before the Boys in Gold host back-to-back matches at Nissan Stadium, which will be played without fans as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Boys in Gold will first host D.C. United on Sept. 23, presented by Hyundai at 7:30 p.m. CT and follow with Western Conference opponent Houston Dynamo on Saturday, Sept. 26 in a nationally televised contest on Univision at 2:30 p.m. CT. The match will also be streamed live in English on Twitter.


Since returning to play on Aug. 12, Nashville SC has earned a 2W-2L-3D record and four shutouts. The Boys in Gold find themselves a point shy of the final playoff spot with a match in hand.


Additional 2020 MLS regular season matches will be announced pending further developments regarding travel protocols.


In addition to announcing regular season match details through September, MLS also today confirmed qualification details and the competition format for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, which will consist of single-elimination matches hosted by the higher-seeded team and follow a straight bracket format through MLS Cup on Dec.12.


As previously announced, in an expansion of the postseason for 2020, 18 clubs will compete in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. Eight teams from the 12-team Western Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. The top six seeds from the 14-team Eastern Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. Eastern Conference seeds 7-10 will each compete in a play-in match (No. 7 vs. No. 10, and No. 8 vs. No. 9) to determine the two additional Eastern Conference teams that will qualify for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs Round 1.


The lower-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 1 seed in Round 1, while the higher-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 2 seed.


The Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs schedule and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
