HALF: Nashville SC scores three goals in eight minutes to take 3-0 lead at Houston Dynamo

Halftime at HOU

NASHVILLE - Well, that was a fun half.

Nashville Soccer Club takes a 3-0 lead into halftime against the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Stadium on Wednesday night thanks to an eight-minute scoring tear midway through the half, including a pair of goals from Hany Mukhtar.

Nashville SC trotted out its youngest lineup in the club’s MLS history, but that didn’t stop it from getting to the attack early. In the 15th minute, Hany Mukhtar took a wonderful touch on a ball from Abu Danladi, got around a defender and slotted the ball home along the ground to the far corner to put Nashville up 1-0.

Four minutes later, Danladi got his goal to make it 2-0 with a lunging header on the end of a Taylor Washington cross from the left flank. The assist was Washington’s first in Major League Soccer. Four minutes after that, Mukhtar struck again with a world-class bending free kick from outside the box to make it 3-0.

Mukhtar’s brace is the first in club history.
