Sept 23 Halftime

NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Club enters halftime tied 0-0 with D.C. United on Wednesday night at Nissan Stadium, but a late red card to the visitors sets up a dramatic second half. Nashville dictated the pace of the match early on and had the first major opportunity with a free kick won just outside the box by midfielder Derrick Jones in the 13’ minute. Aníbal Godoy took the attempt and sent it over the bar. In the 21’ minute, Nashville SC was forced to make a change at winger as Dominique Badji came off with an injury.

A few minutes later in the 39’ minute, Nashville had another free kick opportunity from just outside the box. Ríos took the free kick and sent it just wide of the far post.

In the final minutes of first-half stoppage time, D.C. was reduced to 10 men after a second yellow card and subsequent red card was shown to D.C.’s Russell Canouse. His first yellow card had come just minutes earlier in the 37’ minute.
