NASHVILLE SC'S NEWEST SIGNING BRINGS WEALTH OF INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

NASHVILLE – Nashville Soccer Club’s inaugural roster continued to take shape on Wednesday with the signing of Honduras World Cup veteran Brayan Beckeles.

Here are the must knows about the 22nd member of Nashville SC’s 2020 Major League Soccer roster:

1.         Full and Center Beckeles

With over 250 career appearances, Beckeles has found success playing as a right and center back, which makes him a versatile choice for Head Coach Gary Smith.

2.         World Cup Caliber

Beckeles is among the very few players to have defended their country’s colors in the globe’s biggest sporting event, making three starts for Honduras at the 2014 World Cup.

With 65 caps, Beckeles becomes the second member of Nashville SC with World Cup experience (Aníbal Godoy) and the fifth (Godoy, Aníbal Leal, Daniel Lovitz, Dax McCarty) to have competed in a CONCACAF Gold Cup.

3.         Conquerin’ Liga MX

Beckeles spent four years in the league that is often compared to MLS, Mexico’s Liga MX. After helping Club Necaxa earn promotion to Liga MX in 2016, Beckeles became a stalwart in the top flight of Mexican soccer, making 88 appearances and winning the Copa MX and Supercopa MX 2018.

4.         Parkin’ it in Portugal

On top of his experience in the CONCACAF region, Beckeles also found success playing for Portuguese side Boavista Porto FC during the 2014-15 season. He made 27 appearances in the club’s return to the highest level of Portuguese soccer and helped the club maintain its status in the Primeira Liga (Portugal’s First Division).
