Nashville Soccer Club to Face Louisville City FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 12, 2022) – Nashville Soccer Club, in conjunction with U.S. Soccer, announced that the club will travel to face Louisville City FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on May 25 at Lynn Family Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.

Nashville SC is coming off a dramatic come from behind 3-2 victory in the Round of 32 against Atlanta United FC on Wednesday night. In their first-ever Open Cup match at the MLS level, Nashville SC erased a two-goal deficit at GEODIS Park and prevailed to a 3-2 victory in extra time after Ethan Zubak found the game-winner. Nashville SC is just four wins from obtaining its first trophy in club history should the Boys in Gold win the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In addition to silverware, winners of the 2022 Open Cup will receive a place in the 2023 Concacaf Champions League and $300,000.

On its 107th edition, the Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States and the world's third-longest continuously run national cup tournament. The historic tournament is conducted on a single-game, knockout basis and open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer.
