Nashville EMLS Starting

NASHVILLE SC IS ONE OF THREE CLUBS TO JOIN THE ESPORTS COMPETITION THIS SEASON

NASHVILLE – Nashville Soccer Club will be participating in eMLS, Major League Soccer’s EA Sports FIFA eSports competition, starting in the 2020 season, the league announced on Thursday.

This season’s competition will expand to 25 clubs with the addition of Nashville, LAFC and 2021 MLS expansion club Austin FC.

Last season’s eMLS competition featured three main events: League Series One, League Series Two and the eMLS Cup. Philadelphia Union’s Cormac Dooley, aka "doolsta," swept all three events to capture the 2019 title.

Last year’s eMLS Cup was also part of the broader FIFA Global Series, which is the international EA Sports FIFA competition that features tournaments across the world. The 2019 eMLS Cup was an official qualifier for the EA Sports FIFA Global Series, as the winner earned 850 FIFA Global Series points, which helped boost that player’s ranking in the world.

The FIFA Global Series Rankings are updated regularly and allow for players and fans to monitor the progress of the top FIFA players in the world. The top 60 players in the world qualified for the 2019 FIFA Global Series Playoffs in June, and the top 32 players (16 from PlayStation 4 and 16 from Xbox One) after the playoffs qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup. The 2019 FIFA eWorld Cup took place on August 4, 2019 in London.

PlayStation 4 is the official gaming platform for eMLS.

In the meantime, Nashville SC is hosting EA Sports FIFA Tournaments throughout the state of Tennessee. The next one takes place in Chattanooga on Sunday, October 20.
