The 2022 eMLS season rolls on as eMLS League Series Two pres. by Coca-Cola kicks off on Tuesday.

Nashville SC’s new eMLS competitor Joksan had a strong debut for the club, making it all the way to the semifinals before falling in extra time to the eventual champion GoalMachine (Toronto FC).

Here’s everything you need to know about League Series Two:

League Series One Recap

Joksan finished qualifying with a 9W-2L-3D record, good enough to earn the fifth seed in the knockout rounds. In the quarterfinals, he edged out Sporting KC’s Alekzandur 5-4 over two legs thanks to some late heroics in the second leg.

The quarterfinal win set up a clash with Toronto FC’s GoalMachine in the semifinals. The matchup went back and forth with Joksan tying the clash 3-3 late in the second leg, sending the semifinal to extra time. In the extra session, GoalMachine tacked on two goals to earn the win and the spot in the final.

Joksan’s semifinal finish was the best-ever finish at an eMLS tournament by a Nashville competitor.

“My first tournament with Nashville actually went pretty well,” Joksan said. “I think my main goal was to make it to the broadcast and I ended up finishing Top Four, which is very good.”

League Series Two Format

The format for League Series Two is the same as League Series One. All competitors will play a set of qualifiers to determine the top eight that will move on to the knockout rounds, all while earning points towards qualification for eMLS Cup in March. Each competitor’s qualifier slate will feature different opponents than their League Series One qualifiers.

“I think I’m feeling good going into LS2,” Joksan said. “I will probably make some small adjustments now that there was a gameplay patch, but nothing serious.”
