Tale of the Tape
Dieterich and Robinson were both selected in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft out of Clemson University, where they were teammates from 2017 to 2019. During their time at Clemson, the duo reached the NCAA Tournament twice, including a berth in the quarterfinals in 2019. In their final season together at Clemson, Robinson led the Tigers in goals with 18, while Dieterich led the team in assists with 10. The two linked up for a goal against Syracuse in October 2019, with Dieterich assisting Robinson on a first-half strike. The next match, Robinson assisted Dieterich in a 5-0 win over Radford.
Robinson was selected first overall by Inter Miami CF while Nashville took Dieterich No. 28 overall.
Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF are MLS’ two newest squads who began MLS play in 2020. They were set to face off at Nissan Stadium on May 3 before the MLS season was paused.
