Nashville Soccer Club to Host San Antonio FC in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 7, 2023) – Nashville Soccer Club in conjunction with U.S. Soccer have announced that the club will host reigning USL Championship league winner San Antonio FC in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at GEODIS Park on April 26.

Nashville SC Season Ticket Members will enjoy an exclusive presale window before tickets go on sale to the general public at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, April 14. Season Ticket Members will receive an email with information on their specific window dates and times on Tuesday, April 11.

The 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will mark the second year Nashville SC has competed in tournament, following a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Last year, the Boys in Gold reached the Quarterfinals after defeating Atlanta United FC and Louisville City FC, before ultimately falling to Orlando City SC 6-5 in penalties.

San Antonio FC has resided in the USL Championship since 2016 and won the league title last year after finishing the regular season with a league-high 77 points. San Antonio FC meets Nashville SC after defeating Club de Lyon FC 2-1 in the Second Round.

On its 108th edition, the Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States and the world's third-longest continuously run national cup tournament. The historic tournament is conducted on a single-game, knockout basis and open to all professional and amateur teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer.
