NASHVILLE, Tennessee (April 24, 2021) — In a wet Saturday afternoon affair, Nashville SC find themselves trailing 2-0 to visitors CF Montréal.

It was a slightly choppy start to the match, with both sides feeling each other out. Montréal created the first real opportunity in the 5th minute courtesy of Mustafa Kizza, who’s shot was blocked.

Both sides traded possession before a Nashville turnover was quickly taken down the other end where Montréal striker Mason Toye scored an impressive finish from outside the box in the 12th minute.

Nashville SC nearly equalized eight minutes later when Dan Lovitz was played in behind on the left flank before cutting it across to Hany Mukhtar whose effort was cleared off the line. Nashville created another good opportunity in the 25th minute when Lovitz played Alistair Johnston in behind on the right who cut it across to Jhonder Cádiz who couldn’t get enough on it.

After promising but ultimately uneventful moments, it was another Lovitz cross in the 34th minute that created a great opportunity for Cádiz who couldn’t get his shot on target. Despite the promise from Nashville, Montréal grabbed a second goal with Zachary Brault-Guillard charging upfield, with his deflected shot finding the back of the net.
