Advancing in the Open Cup – Before traveling to Toronto, the Boys in Gold defeated Orlando City SC 3-2 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 at Inter&Co Stadium. Teal Bunbury forced an own goal equalizer in the 22’ before Ahmed Qasem netted a well-placed shot to make it 2-1 in the 41’. Orlando striker Ramiro Enrique scored an equalizer in the 58’, but Wyatt Meyer had the last say with an amazing strike to win the match.
Meyer’s strike was his first career goal and first for Nashville SC.
