Logan Elliott and Kate Guidry’s love story can’t be told without Nashville SC.

The two met in the Supporters’ Section at a match back in the club’s USL Championship era. Three years later, they’re engaged and still cheering for the Boys in Gold in Major League Soccer as part of The Backline.

Their relationship and their passion for the club make Logan and Kate the Ultimate Fans.

“Kate and I met each other at a USL match,” Logan said. “We had a mutual friend who is a Roadie, and we just so happened to sit next to each other during the last game of the 2018 season against Cincinnati. We bonded over soccer and our mutual enthusiasm of growing support for the club. I owe a large debt of gratitude to the club for bringing us together.”

Together, the two of them have become mainstays in The Backline. Logan has been supporting the club since its amateur days before MLS was on the city’s radar, and can always be found setting up The Backline’s tailgate on matchdays. Kate is a member of The Backline Drumline, setting the rhythm of the Supporters’ Section every match. She’s also on The Roadies’ board as Membership Chair.

For the two of them, matchdays represent a chance for all of Nashville to come together as one.

“It doesn’t matter what part of town you live in, or if you even live in town, where you’re from, the color of your skin, who you love, or how you identify,” Logan said. “For 90 minutes we’re here to celebrate the beautiful game in our city. NSC has started friendships, I’ve met people I would not normally meet from all walks of life, and of course it helped me meet the love of my life.”

This year, Logan and Kate’s love story entered a new chapter when they got engaged over the summer. They even got a shoutout from Nashville SC broadcaster Jamie Watson during a match.

“I knew that Logan was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with for a while now, but even so, the moment was still a complete surprise!” Kate said. “He surprised me with a photoshoot at the Parthenon (we had a date there earlier on in our relationship). The whole day was full of joy, love, and laughter that I’ll never forget. I’m still over the moon about it and am very grateful for all the support and love coming from our community.”

A romance that started in The Backline will continue in The Backline in Nashville SC’s new stadium next year and beyond. And when they tie the knot, it’ll be a union born in Blue and Gold.

“There wouldn’t be a relationship without the club!” Kate said. “It’s always been a part of our relationship from day one. We plan our vacations around away days, met our best friends through the Roadies, and really just love supporting the club together.”

Get to Know Logan and Kate

First NSC Match:

Logan – Nashville SC (USL) vs. Atlanta United FC Friendly, Feb. 10, 2018

Kate – Nashville SC (USL) vs. Charleston Battery, Sept. 22, 2018

Favorite NSC Player:

Logan – Hany Mukhtar

Kate – Taylor Washington

Favorite NSC Memory:

Logan - “Hany’s 16-minute hattrick is probably my favorite. I was celebrating so much in the Supporters' Section and the goals were coming so thick and fast it felt like an extreme cardio workout (that or I’m just out of shape!) Hany’s step-over goal was sublime and the hat trick free-kick in the top corner was as good as it gets.”

Kate - “I always go back to the first game in MLS against Atlanta in 2020. It was something that I was looking forward to for so long and knew that it was going to be special no matter what. Right before kickoff, Judah and The Lion performed the anthem and Judah rushed into the crowd to sing it WITH us. He actually grabbed my drum sticks and played the bass drum that I played for that match. That’s a memory that I look back on fondly.”
