Alistair Johnston Called Up to Canada Soccer's Men's National Team Ahead of Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mar. 23, 2021) – Nashville Soccer Club announced today that Defender Alistair Johnston will join Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team for its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Qualifiers.


Canada Soccer will take on Bermuda on Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m. CT from Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. before facing Cayman Islands on Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. CT from the IMG Sports Complex in Bradenton, Fla. where Nashville SC is currently residing during preseason.


After excelling in his rookie season in Major League Soccer, Johnston earned his first international call-up in January during Canada Soccer’s first camp in 2021.


The No. 11 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft started in 18 of the 21 total matches for Nashville, including all three Audi MLS Cup Playoff matches. Johnston went on to log the third most minutes of all MLS rookies with 1,366.
