NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2026) – MLS-leading Nashville Soccer Club, in conjunction with Major League Soccer, announced today that defender Reed Baker-Whiting (No. 17) and midfielder Matthew Corcoran (No. 21) have been named to the 2026 MLS 22 Under 22 class. Baker-Whiting and Corcoran are the first Boys in Gold represented on the league’s 22 Under 22 list, which is voted on by a panel of MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, MLS on Apple TV talent and select media members.

“We are so proud of both Reed and Matthew for their inclusion and this recognition," said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs. “Both are clearly deserving and are tremendous examples of our club’s commitment to our pro player pathway and integrating young talent into our group.”

Baker-Whiting, 21, has already set career highs in MLS goals (two) and assists (five) during his first season with Nashville. In August, he became the youngest goal scorer in NSC history (21 years, 131 days) with his Leagues Cup tally vs. Atlético de San Luis.

Corcoran, 20, has recorded career highs in MLS assists (three) and appearances (27) in his second season with the Boys in Gold. He is the youngest player in club history to start a match (19 years, five days) and record a goal contribution (19 years, 103 days), both in 2025.

On the international stage, Baker-Whiting and Corcoran were teammates on the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025™. Baker-Whiting, who received a call-up to the U.S. U-21 Men’s National Team camp in June, has three goals and one assist in 19 U.S. Youth National Team appearances. Corcoran, who also represented the U.S. at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™, has one goal and two assists in 12 U.S. Youth National Team appearances.

The Boys in Gold, who clinched first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time in club history last Saturday at San Jose, sit atop the MLS standings by 12 points with four matches remaining and will visit CF Montréal at Stade Saputo on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 12:30 p.m. CT.
