Anunga was a staple of Charleston Battery’s midfield in the USL Championship since joining on Mar. 16, 2017. His recovery average, 10 per match, has ranked him among the best central midfielders in the USL Championship during his tenure and earned him the club’s Most Valuable Player award in 2018.
Anunga began his professional career with the Wilmington Hammerheads in 2015 and has since registered 97 career appearances in all club competitions, 84 as a starter. After Wilmington, he went onto joining the Carolina Dynamo in the USL League Two, then known as the Premier Development League, in 2016 before signing for the Battery.
Internationally, Anunga has played for Cameroon Men’s National Team at the U17, U20, and U23 levels, and served as the U20 captain.
