Nashville's Next: Undefeated in the last four

Nash next 5-101920 X 720 V3

Every week, Nashville’s Next recaps the weekend that was for the Nashville SC organization from the first team to Huntsville City FC, to the Nashville SC academy.

Nashville SC: The Boys in Gold played in two matches this past week, first taking down fellow Tennessee side Chattanooga Red Wolves 1-0 in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 at GEODIS Park. Nashville SC will travel down to familiar foe Orlando City for the Round of 16 on May 21.

Eastern Conference foes Charlotte FC also visited GEODIS Park on Saturday. The Carolina club took the lead early in the second half, but their lead didn’t last long. A 49’ peach of a goal from Hany Mukhtar and a 54’ minute strike from Jacob Shaffelburg delivered the three points for the Boys in Gold.

Nashville SC right Andy Najar was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for his performance on Saturday night. The Honduran registered an assist, created two chances, and completed 15 defensive actions.

The Boys in Gold are back in action at GEODIS Park on Wednesday against the New York Red Bulls.
