HEAD COACH & MANAGING DIRECTOR SOCCER OPERATIONS
Smith, 48, is best known for winning the MLS Cup with the Colorado Rapids in 2010, when his team defeated FC Dallas 2-1 in the final. This championship gives Smith the distinction of being one of only five English coaches to win a top-flight trophy outside of England.
Smith, a native of Harlow, England, began his young playing career at Arsenal before joining Fulham’s academy and eventually signing as a professional. His career was cut short by injury but his greatest playing time came with Wycombe Wanderers, where he made 66 appearances over 1990–92.
Smith’s coaching career in England included stints at Wimbledon, Wycombe and Watford before he joined the Rapids as Academy Director for Arsenal FC as part of worldwide development program for the Premier League Club. He then led the Rapids MLS team for three seasons before moving to Stevenage in England’s League One, where he served as head coach for two seasons, qualifying for the League 1 playoffs in his first season.
Smith recently served as coach of the Atlanta Silverbacks during their 2015 North American Soccer League campaign.
Smith, his wife, Emma, and their three children moved recently to the Nashville area and have been settling in nicely in Music City.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR & VP SOCCER OPERATIONS
Mike Jacobs joins Nashville SC after serving as Sporting KC's assistant technical director from 2015 to 2017. During his time in the role, Sporting KC won the 2015 and 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Previously, Mike served in a variety of leadership roles in soccer across the U.S. He was the president of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and executive vice president and technical director for the United Soccer League.
Mike began his coaching career at Iona College, and at age 24, was the youngest head coach in the NCAA. As assistant coach for the Duke University men's soccer team, he was awarded the National Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2004 en route to the Blue Devils making a NCAA College Cup appearance. He then went on to serve as the head coach of the University of Evansville men's team for nine years.
In his role as technical director and Vice President of soccer operations with Nashville SC, Jacobs manages player personnel and transactions, scouting and recruitment, development of the youth academy and training facilities, and other team-related business.
Mike resides in Nashville, and has four children - Katherine, Daniel, Allison & Amanda.
Part of Gary Smith’s coaching setup at the MLS Cup-winning Colorado Rapids, David Proctor, comes to Nashville SC from Columbus Crew, where served as the head coach for the Academy’s youth teams. Proctor also has had coaching experience for his hometown team, York City, in England.
Born in Sheffield, England, Proctor started in the Aston Villa youth academy. He moved from Villa to Hull City, Middlesbrough, Fredrikstad (Norway), and made his way across the Atlantic to play in the USL with the Richmond Kickers.
Proctor has been involved in Player Development at the youth level since 2003 and specifically in MLS since the youth development initiative in 2007. David spent eight years as a Development Academy Coach at Colorado Rapids. In his time there, Proctor worked with several players that progressed through the Rapids Academy ranks into full-time professional players. In 2010 David worked as an Assistant Coach with the Colorado Rapids Reserve team squad.
David resides in Nashville, with his wife JoAnn, and children, Lauren, Jack & Ella.
ASSISTANT GOALKEEPERS COACH
A native of South Bend, Ind., Roelke was a three-year starter for the Belmont Bruins. He earned a business degree in 2007 and completed his master's in 2009, both from Belmont.
After graduating from Belmont, Roelke played professional soccer overseas for several years. His career began in the Scottish Premier League, where he played for Ross County and Inverness. Roelke would later play in Iceland, Guatemala and Puerto Rico. For the last three seasons Roelke, has coached Nashville FC, in the National Premier Soccer League.
Roelke holds a USSF A license and an NSCAA Premier Diploma along with a Level III National Goalkeeping Diploma form the NSCAA. He spent the 2012 season as a member of Nate Norman's staff at Western Michigan.
In 2017, Roelke was the head coach of the Nashville SC U23 team, led the U18 Tennessee Soccer Club to a national championship, and was named Tennessee State Coach of the Year.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH
Stacey Daniels resides in Franklin, Tennessee. He is the Owner/Founder of SD Performance1 (sdperformance1.com) where he specializes in training & educating multi-sport athletes ranging from Adolescent & Aspiring Elite Athletes, to Professional and Adult Enthusiasts. Coach Daniels has spent time alongside soccer professionals such as forwards Jozy Altidore, Eddie Johnson, Freddy Adu, and Rubin Rubio, midfield commanders Michael Bradley and Kellyn Acosta and hard-nosed defenders Omar Gonzalez & Shaq Moore.
His commitment to excellence has proved evident in his developmental programing & training maturation of middle and high school athletes. He has partnered with Tennessee State Soccer Association & their Player Development Program to provide “Pro Level Programming” to their young & talented athletes Throughout the past 5 years, he has enjoyed working with local high schools and interacting with the community.
In 2014, Stacey held the role of Performance Director for Tennessee Soccer Club. He hosted All Club Performance Testing and analytical data pertaining to individual teams and developmental age ranges. He delivered all season programming, while bringing prevalent information to coaches and parents. Previous to arriving in Tennessee in 2013, he was employed by the world-renowned sports institution IMG Academy. For 7.5 years(06-13’),he led performance development for the U-17 National Team in preparation of the World Cup and Pre-Qualifying events. Based on his soccer-specific expertise, he was sought out to work with MLS’ Real Salt Lake in their second season (2006). His Academy experience also includes leading dual gender sport specific performance training and year around multi season programming for the Hockey, Golf, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Tennis Academy.
In 2003-2006 Coach Daniels focused his attention on a spectrum of professional athletes. He trained individuals for the NFL Combine & NBA. In 2012 he was appointed the Assistant Head of Physical Conditioning. He managed performance sponsors such as Gatorade, UnderArmour & SPRI. During the summers of 2011 & 2012, Daniels presented with Peter Twist (International Sports & Fitness Coach and CanFit Pro Presenter of the Year), and Todd Durkin (Head of UnderArmour Council) at IDEA. While as a Master Trainer and Instructor for Ignite360 (formerly Combine360), Coach Daniels traveled the world inspiring others through education and life skills. In 2010, Stacey was an integral part of creating assessment curriculum for an UnderArmour powered brand called Combine360. Daniels tested thousands of athletes from 9-18 years old.
Stacey’s extracurricular activities include traveling, listening to music, playing sports, faith & relationship building, health/fitness, watching sports with friends & visiting his family in Florida.

Sydney Wolfe, MS, ATC, LAT is beginning her first year with Nashville SC but is not new to working with professional sports teams. She was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Atlanta Silverbacks under Head Coach Gary Smith and spent three seasons as the Georgia Swarm’s Head Athletic Trainer.
She received her Bachelors in Athletic Training from Lander University and her Master’s in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University. She brings over six years’ experience working with professional and semi-professional sports teams as well as high school athletics. Her work experience extends to the clinic where she was a member of an orthopedic team assisting in assessment and rehabilitation of patients.
TEAM ADMINISTRATOR & EQUIPMENT MANAGER
Jeff Robben, born and raised in St. Louis, MO, moved to Nashville in the fall of 2012 to attend Belmont University. He recently earned a Master's Degree in Sport Administration at Belmont.
Since being in Nashville, Robben has worked with Montgomery Bell Academy’s varsity soccer team. Robben started with NSC during the spring of 2017 as an intern until he was hired on to be a part of the Nashville SC team full time.
Robben is a loyal St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan, with Manchester City being his Premier League team of choice. He considers himself Nashville SC’s handyman and is notorious for accidental photobombs. He is the proud father of a two year old puppy named Draper, who has a ferocious underbite.
VIDEO ANALYSIS COORDINATOR
A native of Atlanta, GA., Bert played college soccer for both the Hartford Hawks and GA State Panthers. After graduation he payed a season in Oslo, Norway for Ready FC
He began coaching in 1995 and has coached at the youth club, high school, college and PDL level. He holds a USSF A License and National Youth license.
Bert has also taken numerous coaching internships with clubs in Europe which include Stabaek, Ajax, Sporting Portugal, Rayo Vallecano, Liverpool and Manchester City. In 2006, he was educated in the art of video analysis technology in Oslo, Norway via the owner and software engineer of a company called Interplay-sports.
Since that time, he has worked as a video analysis and film expert for US Soccer, Region 3 ODP, and for the Atlanta Silverbacks. Bert worked alongside Gary Smith for the Atlanta Silverbacks and is proud to join the technical staff for Nashville SC as a full time video analysis coordinator.
