It’s finally happening! I’m happy to share the news we’ve been waiting to hear since March: Soccer is returning to Nashville!

Today, Major League Soccer announced plans to resume the 2020 regular season that will have Nashville SC play an additional 21 matches this year, including 10 at Nissan Stadium. Our first match back in action will be at FC Dallas next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and our first home match will be against Inter Miami CF on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Our schedule through Sept. 12 is now available and we look forward to details about the rest of the season being released soon. We don’t yet know if it will be possible for fans to attend our matches at Nissan Stadium.

We’re extremely excited to be back on the pitch after so much time away. Missing out on the MLS Is Back Tournament in Orlando was a major disappointment, but we’re looking forward to having the chance to earn up to nine points from three make up matches against Dallas, two of which will be played during the next week. This will give us a real shot to get back into the race for the 2020 season.

Assuming that we’re able to host fans for some matches at Nissan Stadium, you and your fellow First String members may have the option to either attend matches this year or wait until 2021 to join us in person. The safety of our players, staff and fans is extremely important, so please know that strict social distancing and other safety measures would be in place for those of you looking to cheer on the Boys in Gold at Nissan Stadium. Nevertheless, we understand that some of you may not be comfortable attending live sporting events yet. Please see below for an explanation of your options.

Your unwavering support has been critical for our club this season and we look forward to making you proud this fall.

Never Give Up on You,

Ian Ayre
