TAMPA, Fla. – Nashville SC will be competing in front of a national audience in 2018. The United Soccer League (USL) and ESPN announced on Tuesday afternoon that Nashville SC will host the first nationally televised USL Game of the Week in 2018 on June 26 against Indy Eleven at First Tennessee Park.
The matchup is one of two on Nashville’s home schedule that ESPN has picked up for its USL Game of the Week. The first will be the June 26 game against Indy Eleven on ESPNews, while ESPN3 will show Nashville SC’s home game against Tampa Bay Rowdies on September 18. Nashville SC is one of six teams to host multiple ESPN games of the week.
“We are honored to be selected to open the USL’s national broadcasting schedule this season,” said Nashville SC VP of marketing and communication James Cannon. “The Nashville soccer movement, led by Nashville SC’s fans, is thriving, and those fans have orchestrated an incredible gameday soundtrack that will reverberate on national TV.”
Nashville SC games will continue to air in Middle Tennessee through its local broadcast partner, Fox17 affiliate MyTV30. The station will air 23 of the remaining Nashville SC games, including Saturday’s game at Indy Eleven at 11 a.m. CT.
The league officially announced its partnership with ESPN+ last week, as the new subscription-based service will become the digital home for all live USL broadcasts. Beginning on Thursday, all USL games can be watched on ESPN+ including Nashville SC’s next game at Indy Eleven on Saturday.
Nashville SC season tickets are still available but are limited with less than 300 remaining in its inaugural season in the USL. Season Ticket Memberships are as low as $16 a game and can be purchased at NashvilleSC.com/seasontickets.
