Mensah's seventh goal of season assisted by Lebo Moloto

NASHVILLE – A first half corner kick header from forward Ropapa Mensah gave Nashville SC a 1-0 halftime lead at Nissan Stadium over North Carolina FC on Saturday night. The set piece strike, off the boot of midfielder Lebo Moloto with The Backline leading the crowd in the signature N-S-C chant, found the head of Mensah in the 32’ minute to break the deadlock and give Nashville the advantage.

It was a deserved lead for the Boys in Gold as Nashville dominated the shot total 11-2 and put four of its shots on target. Mensah and fellow forward Daniel Ríos bombed forward throughout the half giving Nashville plenty of chances inside the 18-yard box.

In the seven halves (315 total minutes) of soccer for Nashville SC at Nissan Stadium, NSC has yet to allow a single goal by its opponent.

With a win, Nashville SC would clinch home field advantage in the first round, the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, in the USL Championship Playoffs. Watch the second half locally on MyTV30 or nationally online at ESPN+.
