FENTON, Mo. – A back and forth first half between Nashville SC and Saint Louis FC finished 0-0 as the teams went into the locker room scoreless in Missouri. Nashville SC managed the only shot on target between either side as forward Ropapa Mensah forced a save from STLFC keeper Jake Fenlason midway through the first 45 minutes.
In the 38th minute, Nashville’s defense held strong when Saint Louis earned a free kick mere inches outside the 18-yard box. Saint Louis’ shot and subsequent rebound were both blocked before reaching the net by Nashville defender Darnell King, who took the first off his chest and the second off his side.
Despite 11 Saint Louis shots, none of them were put on frame as Nashville took away dangerous chances with stout defense and positioning.
