NASHVILLE – An early goal from Nashville SC defender turned midfielder Ken Tribbett was answered by New York Red Bulls II for a 1-1 halftime score on Wednesday night at First Tennessee Park. Tribbett scored in the 10’ minute from a corner sent in by Lebo Moloto.
It was the fourth goal of the year for Tribbett who has been a Nashville staple in the midfield since the injury to Michael Reed after spending the bulk of the season as a central defender. Moloto’s assist was his ninth of the season, putting him at the top of the Eastern Conference leaderboard.
After the goal, Nashville SC was forced to defend for the majority of the rest of the first half, and parried away the Red Bulls II attack each time until the 44’ minute when New York answered. Kyle Duncan sent in a grounded cross that found the feet of Jared Stroud who slipped the ball behind NSC keeper Connor Sparrow to equalize.
The second half can be seen locally on MyTV30 and on ESPN+ here.
