Derrick Jones to make his Nashville debut in U.S. Open Cup match in Murfreesboro

NASHVILLE – Nashville SC unveiled its matchday squad and Starting XI before its Tuesday night Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against South Georgia Tormenta 2 at Hayes Stadium in Murfreesboro.

The Starting XI includes:

Keeper: Connor Sparrow

Defenders: Taylor Washington, Liam Doyle, Bradley Bourgeois and Darnell King

Midfielders: Bolu Akinyode, Derrick Jones and Lebo Moloto

Forwards: Alan Winn, Ropapa Mensah and Cameron Lancaster.

The bench will include keeper Danny Vitiello, defender Justin Davis, midfielders Matt LaGrassa, Ramone Howell and Vinnie Vermeer, and forwards Tucker Hume and Kharlton Belmar.

A few notes about the Starting XI:

Keeper

  • Connor Sparrow will make his fifth start of the season.
  • Danny Vitiello makes the 18-man roster for the first time this season.

Defense

  • Taylor Washington returns to the starting lineup after being on the bench for last Saturday’s match vs. Swope Park Rangers.
  • Liam Doyle makes his second consecutive start. He has started in all but one match so far this season.
  • Bradley Bourgeois returns to the lineup for his fifth start of the season.
  • Darnell King makes his fourth start of the season.

Midfield

  • Derrick Jones will make his debut for Nashville SC after being acquired from the Philadelphia Union of MLS last week.
  • Bolu Akinyode makes his sixth start of the season.
  • Lebo Moloto gets the start for the second consecutive match.

Forward

  • Ropapa Mensah makes his first start of the season. He has appeared in seven matches off the bench.
  • Cameron Lancaster starts for the third time this season and for the first time since March 16.
  • Alan Winn makes his second start of the season.
