MLS IS BACK

A LETTER FROM CEO IAN AYRE:

Dear Nashville SC fans and season ticket members,

Soccer is almost back! Today, Major League Soccer announced that the 2020 season will restart with the MLS is Back Tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida later this month. Our players, staff and fans have worked so hard to build a club that will make our city proud and I’m thrilled that we now have the chance to re-ignite the incredible momentum we had just a few months ago. Unfortunately, these games will not be played in front of fans for safety reasons, but you will be able to follow the entire tournament on national television.

Our plans are coming together quickly and, as you can imagine, there are still some aspects of the future that remain unclear. We expect our team to travel to Orlando this month to begin full team training. Starting July 8th, we’ll play in the tournament that will see Nashville SC compete in three nationally televised group stage matches, with the top two teams from each group and the top four third place finishers advancing to the knockout round.

Stakes will be high, with the three group stage game results counting against our regular season standings. In our first two matches we showed that we are committed to competing against any club in MLS and I believe this format presents us with a unique opportunity to get back to playing soccer.

While this tournament is the safest solution to getting all teams back to training and playing games, our core objective remains to get our Boys in Gold playing back in front of our fans as soon as possible. When teams return to their home markets after the tournament, our sincere hope is that we can play as many remaining games of the 2020 season at Nissan Stadium.

As I am sure you can appreciate, the timing and detail of our home schedule will only become clear as our country opens back up under the safety measures and regulations established by health officials across the nation in the coming weeks and months. Like you, we all want to be playing and watching soccer together as soon as it is safe and practical.

As we’ve previously communicated, we will make it a priority to keep you informed of your options in the event that we must play matches without fans or cancel them altogether. Should that be the case, you will have the choice of rolling over the value of any such matches as a credit for 2021 season tickets or receiving a refund for this amount. Please see our 2020 season ticket FAQs for details.

Thank you for sticking with us through the suspension of the season and the other challenges we’ve all endured this spring. We look forward to giving Nashville something to cheer about soon.

Never Give Up on You,

Ian Ayre
