Nashville SC will train primarily at Currey Ingram Academy in Brentwood, Tenn. Members of the media interested in covering Nashville SC at Currey Ingram Academy MUST RSVP with Nashville SC Communications by 5 p.m. CT the day before the training session, no exceptions.

To RSVP please email communications@nashvillesc.com. Members of the media covering the club at Currey Ingram must always wear their issued media credential and remain in the designated areas assigned by Nashville SC. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Weekly Storylines

  • Saturday will be the first MLS meeting between former USL Championship rivals Nashville SC and FC Cincinnati
  • Nashville opens the season with a four match homestand, the second longest of the season and five of their first six overall matches at Nissan Stadium
  • MLS and U.S. Soccer recently announced that eight U.S.-based MLS teams will qualify for the 2021 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Tournament. The clubs with the highest number of regular season points per game at the conclusion of the first three weeks of MLS play will qualify for the 2021 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
  • Last season Nashville became the second expansion club in MLS history to reach the Conference Semifinals in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs
  • The club won two Audi MLS Cup Playoff matches, becoming the first expansion team since the 1998 Chicago Fire to win a playoff match in their expansion year 
  • Nashville’s defense earned a goal-against average of 0.96 goals per game, the best of any expansion club in league history 
  • The club was tied for the league-lead with nine clean sheets in 2020
  • Earlier this offseason Nashville SC General Manager Mike Jacobs signed a contract extension through the 2023 season. Jacobs used an innovative analytics approach to build a talented roster that offered bred young talent with veteran leadership in route to one of the most successful expansion campaigns in league history
  • Head Coach Gary Smith signed an extension with Nashville SC through the 2023 season, as per announced by the club on Monday, April 12. During the 2020 season, Smith surpassed the 300 career games managed mark, leading Nashville SC to the Audi MLS Postseason. Dating back to USL Championship, Smith has led Nashville to the playoffs in every year he has been in charge in 2018, 2019 and 2020
  • Nashville has 23 returning players this season from their inaugural MLS roster, leading the Eastern Conference in returning players that accounted for 93.6% of 2020 minutes played
  • The club added offseason depth by acquiring attacking players Rodrigo Piñeiro and CJ Sapong as well as defenders Robert Castellanos, Nick Hinds and Dylan Nealis and goalkeeper Bryan Meredith
  • Walker Zimmerman returns as the 2020 MLS Defender of the Year and MLS Best XI selection 
  • Captain Dax McCarty enters his 16th season of MLS sixth all-time in appearances in MLS history for outfield players with 382 games, and seventh in minutes played with 30,959
  • Goalkeeper Joe Willis led all of MLS in shutouts in 2020 with nine. He added two more in the Audi MLS Playoffs
