TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced Thursday the expansion of its media reach across the country with ESPN and SiriusXM, providing an even broader national platform as Nashville SC prepares for its 2018 entrance into the league.
“We’re excited that ESPN has expanded their partnership with the USL, and we at Nashville SC cannot wait for our inaugural season next year,” said James Cannon, vice president of marketing and communications. “We fully expect to have multiple games on the ESPN family of networks to showcase our town and our club.”
The USL’s telecast agreement with ESPN enters its second year with expanded coverage that will see more USL games aired on ESPNU. The USL Game of the Week on ESPN3 will also return, with top games’ being featured on the streaming network throughout the 30-week regular season. Additionally, the league has entered into a content-sharing agreement with ESPN FC, providing fans with even more features and information.
The USL also announced a new agreement with SiriusXM that will bring the league to a national radio audience throughout the 2017 USL season. Starting Tuesday, SiriusXM FC, SiriusXM’s exclusive 24/7 soccer channel (channel 85), will air a live USL Game of the Week and will have a weekly one-hour show every Monday night at 8 p.m. CT. Hosted by Michael Watts, “USL Coast to Coast” will cover news from around the league and feature interviews with top players and coaches.
